There were rumours earlier this year that Ronda Rousey was interested in playing Marvel’s Captain Marvel, and the MMA icon has now made it clear that she wasn’t joking at the prospect of playing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Carol Danvers.

Recently speaking to ET Online, the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion said, “I’m really looking forward to doing my first starring role opposite Mark Wahlberg. Hopefully by the time Captain Marvel comes around, I will have enough experience and skills in the field for them to really consider me.”

Having had roles in the likes of The Expendables 3 and Fast & Furious 7, Rousey is signed on to headline the upcoming Road House remake and will star opposite Wahlberg in the aforementioned Mile 22.

“Rowdy” Ronda is the most dominant fighter on the planet and the biggest draw in MMA, so she’s certainly got the physicality of Captain Marvel sorted, but would you been keen to see her play Carol Danvers?

At present, Captain Marvel is set for a March 8th, 2019 release.
