With Alien: Covenant so nearly upon us, director Ridley Scott has moved to update fans on when he’ll be getting to work on that film’s sequel.

Of course, Scott has already said how Covenant is just the first of three films that will bridge the gap between Prometheus and Alien. Speaking to IGN UK, the legendary director has revealed that “we’re writing now, as we speak. I’ll be filming that within 14 months.”

In addition to this, Scott also revealed that the Neill Blomkamp Alien movie that ultimately will never come to be was to be titled Alien: Awakening. As per Blomkamp, his proposed picture, of which Scott would have served as a producer on, was going to be set after Aliens and focus on Ripley, Hicks, and Newt.

Before any further outings, though, our focus is on Alien: Covenant, which is released in the UK later this week on May 12th before the famed Xenomorph returns to US screens on May 19th. Having had the chance to check the film out already, be sure to take a look at our earlier review here.
