Warlock Tiles Accessory – Merchants is one of those sets that does exactly what it says on the front of the box; it’s a collection of models and figures suitable for a fantasy or medieval table-top game. This is essentially a collection of NPCs for a market place or town setting and as such is a bit of a mixed bag.
We get eight pre-painted, well sculpted 25mm scale models. They include diplomats, friars, a fisher women, tanners and actual merchants. Oh and some bandits because we can’t have a set of models in a fantasy game with at least one of them carrying a knife. Of these the oddest is the executioner, we aren’t sure how this fits with the ‘merchant’ theme but it’s a useful model to have in your collection.
Though mostly a figure pack, they are some nice furniture pieces. The Market stall is very useful (perfect for one of your adventuring party to get thrown into) , a tanning rack, scraping board, trough and weirdly, a hollowed out log to hide some treasure in. And also some treasure to hide in it. The latter is probably more useful for a bandit camp, but it’s still a nice piece to have.
Mostly this is a handy add-on set for a growing range of set pieces. Certainly the figures themselves can be used to fill any village with interesting bystanders. A useful bit of kit, but not an essential one.
