Jurassic Park came out in 1993 and is broadly considered to be one of the best monster movies of all time. It’s notable for its state-of-the-art special effects that still stand up thirty-two years later. So the idea of recreating this classic using two performers and a foley artist is certainly a novel one.

Hold On To Your Butts is a comedic homage to Spielberg’s ground-breaking classic, using props and sound to tell a story most of the audience is familiar with. It is superbly done; much of the humour comes from the haphazard nature of storytelling, as well as the low-budget vibe given to the props.

The Foley work is also excellent; the sounds of the dinosaurs are something that makes the movie, and this is done superbly well.  The cast nail the characters perfectly, specifically the roles of Ian Malcom and John Hammond. It’s hard to do a good Jeff Goldblum or Richard Attenborough impersonation at the best of times, but at the same time? Whilst pulling various poses? Excellent work.

From cars getting stuck up trees to lawyers getting eaten by T-Rexs, Jurassic Park has some amazing moments. Somehow, the Hold On To Your Butts team nails the vibe every time. This is deeply silly fun from the same folk behind Fly You Fools (which is the same sort of idea, but with Lord of The Rings).
