D&D ICONS OF THE REALMS PREMIUM MINIATURES WAVE 4

Dragonborn Sorcerer D&D

PUBLISHER: WIZKIDS | RELEASE DATE: DECEMBER 10TH

Table-top gaming is often as much about the presentation as it is about the game itself. Having a nicely put together set-piece and model can enhance the experience and having the right sort of model can serve as a spring-board to the imagination.

The D&D Icons of The Realms Premium Miniatures range are a collection of single model blister packs with nicely sculpted and extremely well-painted models. As the name suggests, they’re intended for playing Dungeons and Dragons with, but they are many other fantasy games on the market that will cheerfully accommodate these pieces.

Wizkids are currently doing a promotion on their site; orders of over $100 are eligible for a box of Yeti Tykes; three tiny adorable monsters to harass your adventurers, perfect if you’re currently playing IceWind Dale.

One of the more striking pieces is the Dwarf Paladin. With their glowing sword and look of awe on the face, it’s the sort of model that inspires character creation. Likewise, the Dragonborn Sorcerer model is impressive as they are posed wielding elemental flame. The range also features a Human Warlock and the entire piece screams ‘evil magic user’, from the skull staff to the rapier and the goatee beard. Perfect.

The Orc Fighter model is more athletic and dynamic than powerful, which makes a nice change from your typical orc model. Likewise, the Half-Elf Bard is nice balance between pop-star and fantasy figure, which makes a nice change from the norm. The human ranger is dynamically posed and painted and clearly inspired by popular fantasy movies. The Elf Paladin is appropriately pretty though a little specific in terms of design. Again, a great proxy for your games.

There’s a human cleric who looks pleasingly generic but interesting enough to be your champion on the table. The Human Druid is a little busy in terms of his costume, with scarves and cloaks everywhere, but again, a great piece to inspire play. A dashing rogue rounds off the series.

Overall, another great wave of models for your gaming table.
