STAR WARS ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW UPDATED AND EXPANDED

Back in 2014, authors Adam Bray, Cole Horton, Michael Kogge and Kerrie Dougherty released the first version of Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know, a fact-filled tour through the canonical and expanded universe of Star Wars that delighted readers and loaded up trivia fans with enough nuggets of knowledge to fill an ewok caravan.

The book sold very well, and in the grand tradition of Star Wars literature an expanded and updated version arrives with gems from not only Star Wars Rebels, The Force Awakens and Rogue One but also – bearing in mind that this book is a part of the Journey To The Last Jedi publishing program – a section looking at The Last Jedi.

While most updated releases may add an additional chapter, or slot in a new page here and there, Absolutely Everything You Need to Know bucks that trend with style by loading the book with pages filled with fresh facts from the latest seasons of the animated Rebels and the two recent movies. Indeed, it feels like a brand-new book,

In a release like this, the quality of facts is vital and with authors of the quality of Kogge, Bray, Dougherty and Horton those facts are top drawer. Ever wondered how old Ahsoka Tano was when she fought Darth Vader in Star Wars Rebels? The answers here (little Snips was 32). Perhaps you’d like to know that Cassian Andor was also known as Willix, Aach, Joreth Sward and Fulcrum (just like Ahsoka).

If your focus is on the new trilogy you’d certainly be interested to know that Jakku’s population is a mere 25,000 and that Niima Outpost was named after Niima the Hutt. And the section looking at December 2017’s The Last Jedi takes a dip into the opulence of Canto Bight, the casino city on the world of Cantonica. From that we learn that the windows of the casino are adorned with images of elegant fathiers, the deer-like animatronic creature we saw briefly in the behind the scenes video shown at Disney’s D23 expo this summer.

In the modern era of Star Wars there is room for facts and fiction pitched at all ages and tastes. DK are the masters of informative releases packed with lavish images and memorable content. It would have been all too easy to coast with a release like this, so hats off to DK for going the extra mile and making this an essential release as we count down the days to the release of The Last Jedi.

STAR WARS ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW UPDATED AND EXPANDED / AUTHORS: ADAM BRAY, KERRIE DOUGHERTY, COLE HORTON, MICHAEL KOGGE / PUBLISHER: DK / RELEASE DATE: 3RD OCTOBER
