An anger issue-ridden Glen Powell gets hunted by the nation in the first trailer for Edgar Wright’s adaptation of The Running Man.

Per the film’s official synopsis: In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television — a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward.

Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favourite — and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall.

The film’s screenplay was co-written by Michael Bacall and Wright, and is based on the novel by Stephen King. Simon Kinberg, Nira Park, and Edgar Wright serve as producers. The film was executive produced by George Linder, James Biddle, Rachael Prior, Audrey Chon, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary.

Ryan Gosling Goes To Space In PROJECT HAIL MARY Trailer

Ryan Gosling heads back to space in the first trailer for Amazon MGM Studios’ sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directed the film from a script by Drew Goddard, itself an adaptation of Andy Weir’s 2021 novel of the same name. Sandra Hüller and Milana Vayntrub also star.

This is Goddard’s second adaptation of a Weir novel, having previously written the screenplay for The Martian, starring Matt Damon.

Project Hail Mary centres on molecular biologist-turned-middle school teacher-turned-unwilling astronaut, Ryland Grace (Gosling), who finds himself on a spaceship with no memory of his past or how he ended up there. He gradually remembers that he was sent to the Tau Ceti system, 12 light-years from Earth, to find a means of reversing a solar dimming event that could cause the extinction of humanity. His interstellar mission also leads him to meet a mysterious alien who also seeks to save his own species.

This film marks Lord and Miller’s first release as directors since 2014’s 22 Jump Street starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. They are also the writing duo behind the excellent animated Spider-Man films, with their third film Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse currently in production.

Project Hail Mary releases in cinemas from March 20th, 2026. Watch the trailer below:

Audio drama producers Big Finish Productions are hosting an eBay auction where several Doctor Who-related items, many of which are signed by stars of the TV show – including the Doctors themselves and their companions – are being sold to raise money for the BBC-run charity Children in Need.

There are 50 lots on offer, with the items that will particularly appeal to Who fans and collectors including a model of the Thirteenth Doctor’s TARDIS console signed by Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill, posters of the Eleventh Doctor signed by Matt Smith, photograph cards signed by Tom Baker and Louise Jameson, an Art of the Audio Adventures book signed by Colin Baker and Peter Purves, and much more.

All the money raised will go to Children in Need, a charity dedicated to helping kids across the UK who are struggling with poverty, social inequality, and mental health-related issues. It’s a very worthy cause, and what better way to support it than by adding something to your Doctor Who shelf?

The auction is open now, and runs until Tuesday 1st July. It’s already raised an impressive amount of money, but there are still some very decently priced goodies available – so get your bids in quick.

Denis Villeneuve To Direct Next JAMES BOND Film

In news that might lift some fans’ spirits, Denis Villeneuve has been tapped to direct the next James Bond feature entry, the first under Amazon MGM Studios’ rule.

Tanya Lapointe, Villeneuve’s moviemaking partner and wife, will serve as executive producer alongside Villeneuve. As previously announced, Amy Pascal and David Heyman have also boarded the project as producers.

“Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No with Sean Connery. I’m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he’s sacred territory. I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come,” said the Dune and Blade Runner 2049 director. “This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor.”

Reportedly, Denis Villeneuve beat out several other directors who met for this film, which included Edward Berger, Edgar Wright, and Paul King. The new Bond will mark the franchise’s 26th film and the follow-up to 2021’s No Time to Die, which was directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.

It’s unclear when Bond will begin production, considering Villeneuve is preparing to film Dune: Messiah this summer, but the search is underway for a screenwriter.

Stephen King’s THE STAND Heads To The Big Screen

After two television miniseries, Stephen King’s post-apocalyptic novel The Stand is getting a feature film adaptation for the first time. Doug Liman, best known for helming The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow, and Road House, has been tapped to direct the film for Paramount Pictures, according to Variety.

As Variety notes, “The project does not yet have a script, however, so development may take some time as Liman and the studio winnow King’s novel — which runs 1,153 pages in its unabridged version — into a single movie. But the studio sees the movie as a priority and is moving forward aggressively to make it happen.”

In King’s novel, one man escapes from a biological weapon facility after an accident, carrying with him the deadly virus known as Captain Tripps, a rapidly mutating flu that – in the ensuing weeks – wipes out most of the world’s population. In the aftermath, survivors choose between following the 108-year-old Mother Abagail, or the powerful Dark Man, Randall Flagg, who has set up his command post in Las Vegas. The two factions prepare for a confrontation between the forces of good and evil.

A feature adaptation of The Stand has been attempted before, with filmmakers including George A. Romero and David Yates attached to iterations that never made it past development.
