With other classic anthology shows of yesteryear currently being brought back to life, now comes word that Night Gallery is to be refreshed for a new audience.
Courtesy of Deadline, Teen Wolf’s Jeff Davis and Midnight, Texas’ David Janollari are overseeing this new take on an old favourite for Syfy. This new series will update the 1969 setting of the original, with a more modern, digital-driven skew on things this time out. In fact, the early word has Night Gallery looking to “explore and exploit every modern nightmare imaginable, mining our fears of the dangers of social media”.
The original Night Gallery was a creation of the iconic Rod Sterling, running from 1969 to 1973. Sterling was also responsible for giving audiences The Twilight Zone, which itself is currently getting the reboot treatment courtesy of Jordan Peele and CBS.
As ever, expect more on Night Gallery was we get it.
