Sorry for the tease, but truth is we haven’t the foggiest. And it seems the only folks on the planet currently in the know are Lucasfilm themselves who recently, according to the gurus on this matter over at Fusible.com*, registered the domain names www.StarWarsIdentities.com and www.sw-id.com. Curious.

Speculation is in full swing across the fan community with some theorising it could be the name of the long-promised live-action TV show, or the significantly less anticipated animated ‘sitcom’ set within the STAR WARS universe. We can’t see it personally, because to be frank – it’s a terrible title. The same applies to those that think this might be some allusion to Episodes VII, VIII, and IX… it’s not.

The much more likely scenario is that we’re looking at some type of gaming property here, with the word ‘Identities’ lending itself perfectly to the world of the MMO. But with THE OLD REPUBLIC launching in December, what would be the point other than to win the affection of our old friend GoofyGrrl back? Or, perhaps we’re looking at Lucasfilm getting in on the Facebook gravy train with a STAR WARS-styled social networking tool – Spacebook, if you will.

Either way, it’ll be interesting to find out, and we’ll be sure to keep you posted on further rumblings…

* These were the guys who uncovered the title of Bond 23, long before MGM announced it was flippin’ SkyFall.
