In news that seems to occur on a daily basis, another studio has snagged the rights to another comic with a view to turning it into a movie. This time it’s Sony Pictures, who are set to adapt the 2007 graphic novel NIGHTFALL written by Scott O.Brown with art by Ferran Xalabarder.

The story follows David Paxton a criminal who unfortunately finds himself on the way to a Texas prison which is a front for vampires who feed on the inmates.

The most recent incarnation of the script was written by Peter Woodward and once upon a time James Wan (INSIDIOUS) was attached to direct. It seems now he has been replaced by someone called Uros Stojanovic the director of TEARS FOR SALE, which has been called the ‘Serbian AMELIE’.

I’m not familiar with the source material but vampires are something I never get tired of. A better man than me once said that you could do Dracula every year as long as you had a fresh approach each time. This sounds like it could be fun in a FROM DUSK TIL DAWN meets ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK kind of way.
