We had a feeling the success of THE WALKING DEAD would open the floodgates for more TV adaptations of comic-book properties. Not that we’re complaining of course, it’s clearly a superior medium in which to more faithfully tell these kind of serialized stories. Joining the recently announced POWERS and 100 BULLETS comes Oni Press’ THE DAMNED.

Written by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt, the book is pitched as a supernatural crime thriller based in an alternate prohibition era Chicago ruled not by mobsters, but demon mobsters! The protagonist is Eddie, a cursed man caught in the centre of the power struggle.

Screenwriter David Hayter (he of X-MEN, X-2 and, erm, THE SCORPION KING) has been tasked with developing the scripts as well as executive producing.

Lots of potential with this one, but it’s early days in the development process at the moment, so further deets are thin on the ground. Rest assured, we’ll keep you in the loop – we’re as eager as anyone to see what’s in store.
