With the upcoming new Star Trek TV series due to air on CBS All Access in North America, many UK fans were wondering just where the show would find a home on these shores. Well we now have an answer to that particular pickle.

CBS Studios and Netflix have officially announced that the new Star Trek show will air exclusively on Netflix in a whopping 188 countries, excluding the US and Canada. Each and every new episode will be available just 24 hours after its US premiere.

In addition to this, this deal will also see all 727 episodes of existing Star Trek shows made available on Netflix by the end of the year. That includes Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise.

Where the new series is concerned, there’s not a great deal known about it at this stage. We know that production is due to start in Toronto this coming September, with the series featuring a completely new ship, new characters and new missions.

Alex Kurtzman and Bryan Fuller are co-creating the still-untitled new Star Trek show.
