Rajita Ratha The Amazing Spider-Man News

After Spidey saved him from The Lizard in Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, it was never revealed what actually happened to Dr. Rajit Ratha, played by Irrfan Khan. Well, the faux Daily Bugle Tumblr site has posted news of Ratha’s demise.

Their report reads as follows:

OSCORP CORPSE I.D.

By Dilbert Trilby

The New York City Coroner’s Office yesterday positively identified a badly decomposed body found in the sewers beneath lower Manhattan as that of Dr. Rajit Ratha, 46, formerly of Oscorp Industries. A resident of New York City, Ratha was born on March 13, 1967 in Jaipur, India. Ratha was the Director of Business Development in the Biogenetic Division of Oscorp in Manhattan.

Despite the uncertainty over the character’s whereabouts once THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN came to a close, a deleted scene has surfaced that certainly matches up with the above report.

So could Dr. Ratha’s death be used as a propaganda stick for somebody like, oh, I dunno, J. Jonah Jameson to beat Spider-Man with? With all this promotional Daily Bugle push, we most certainly wouldn’t rule it out.

Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is currently looking at an 18th April, 2014 release.
