Like it or not, Arnold Schwarzenegger will next year be back on our cinema screens in THE EXPENDABLES 2 as well as Kim Jee-Woon’s Hollywood directing debut LAST STAND. Around the time that he signed on for these two movies, the governator also signed on to star in BLACK SANDS. The original story for this one was about a one man army who wages war against a weapons manufacturer and his private army in South America.

In a strange twist the film has now been retitled BLACK SUNDAY and has had an element of the supernatural attached to the screenplay by Scott Waugh and Mike McCoy. The project is now being described as a cross between CONSTANTINE and COMMANDO, just nobody mention END OF DAYS okay?

AHnuld had this to say about his character: “I’m a kind of angel, but I can not currently say more about this film”. Of course this could just be a line defending his latest bout of marital infidelity.

Personally I’ll be quite glad to see Schwarzenegger back on screens where he belongs. Hopefully his recent troubles and forays into unpopular politics haven’t diminished his screen presence.
