Wow, director Jose Padilha and Strike Entertainment really mean business with their upcoming ROBOCOP remake! Following on from last week’s announcement that the British uber thesp Gary Oldman himself had hopped onboard as tech genius/Robocop’s daddy Norton (not Morton in this retelling oddly), comes news that the mighty Samuel L. Jackson has now signed too.

According to THR who exclusively broke the story, the acting legend will portray a new character, TV mogul Pat Novak, who is, according to the site, “a powerful force in the Robocop world”.

Could it be possible that we’re actually getting psyched to see this reboot? We’re certainly intrigued to see what Padilha has up his sleeve…

Expect ROBOCOP to hit the streets August 9th 2013.
