Megan Fox may have been a controversial casting decision for April O’Neil in the Michael Bay-produced reboot of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, but that’s not giving the actress nearly enough credit. Unfortunately, Fox hasn’t been afforded enough room to manoeuvre, instead being offered roles to titillate horny boys. In fairness to the actress, she did demonstrate a bit of variety in the flawed-but-ultimately-rewarding JENNIFER’S BODY.

New images have surfaced on the movie’s Facebook page showing April, accompanied by Will Arnett’s Vernon Fenwick, complete with the latest take on her infamous yellow jumpsuit-cum-jacket (she must have been sharing with Jubilee). From below images, it looks to be a fairly honest portrayal of the character; one that doesn’t exploit the actress, fingers crossed. Still, Michael Bay is producing, after all.

Fox has recently said of her character, “She’s more of a leader when she explores her relationship with the Turtles instead of just the human companion that gets dragged along on the adventure.”

Do these latest images put your mind at ease or would you rather somebody else took up the yellow coat and camera?

As well as Fox, this heroes-in-a-half-shell reboot also features Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Will Arnett, Danny Woodburn, Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub and William Fichtner.

The official word on the film’s plot reads:

“Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O’Neil and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.”

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES is set for an 8th August release.
