Think back to a time before CGI, before Mark Ruffalo, before Ed Norton, and before Eric Bana. Think back to a time when Bill Bixby was Bruce Banner and Lou Ferrigno was the Hulk in the iconic TV series, THE INCREDIBLE HULK. Well, beefcake Ferrigno has been speaking to the LA Times about which version of the Hulk he thinks is the best.

The strongman said, “I was the first to bring superhero muscles to the screen and make it more believable. There’s still people who prefer to watch the old show over the new things because it’s real, not CGI. I don’t think anybody else can play the Hulk like I could. I was able to show emotions even with all of the makeup. I don’t think it can be duplicated.”

Ferrigno’s portrayal of the Hulk definitely has a place in the heart of a generation, including this writer.

As for present-day Hulk, he is to be next seen, in all his CGI glory, in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

There are currently no plans for a solo Hulk film any time soon, although I’m sure it will happen at some point.
