Brace yourself, Pandora is coming.

A lot.

…Eventually.

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s announcement that James ‘I’ll buy your house for a laugh’ Cameron had hired BLACK DHALIA scriber Josh Friedman to help out on AVATAR 2’s script, AVATAR 4 has been confirmed.

In a move that’s definitely not just Cameron trying to break the basic tenets of time, logic and mathematics in some apocalypse-baiting bout of ultra troll-douchery, it’s been announced that AVATAR 2, 3 and 4 will be released annually from 2016 onwards.

It’s a move that only makes sense when think exclusively in four-dimensional, bioluminescent dollar signs like Cameron does.

More writers have also been piled on the pyre of Cameron’s rampant ambition, with RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES co-writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silvers on top of SAVAGES scripter Shane Salerno being thrown into the mix.

“Building upon the world we created with AVATAR has been a rare and incredibly rewarding experience. In writing the new films, I’ve come to realize that AVATAR’s world, story and characters have become even richer than I anticipated, and it became apparent that two films would not be enough to capture everything I wanted to put on screen,” says the Wizard of Time himself.

“And to help me continue to expand this universe, I’m pleased to bring aboard Amanda, Rick, Shane and Josh – all writers I’ve long admired – to join me in completing the films’ screenplays.”

The director’s self-exile to New Zealand to get the AVATAR sequels up and running has been well documented, but what’s the betting that rather than write anything, he’s simply turned New Zealand into Pandora? It’ll be like a never-ending film that’s constantly changing which you experience whenever you want a la JURASSIC PARK, only more dangerous and with fewer jeeps.

The world’s first 5D film.

Gentle mockery aside, the current production schedule is to shoot all three sequels side-by-side with each writer (or writers) working on their respective script. As for how the actual production schedule will go however…well, here’s waiting for AVATAR 5 tomorrow.

AVATAR 2 is currently expected in December 2016, with AVATAR 3 due 2017 and the fourth in 2018.

There you go see, who says that sequels and adaptations are choking the industry?
