After Barry Allen was introduced in the second season of The CW’s ARROW (review available here), the character has wound up with his own spin-off show, the soon-to-debut THE FLASH. According to Mark Pedowitz, President of The CW, the Scarlet Speedster may not be the only character getting a spin-off show, though.

When asked by AdWeek about potential spin-offs to ARROW and THE FLASH, Pedowitz teased, “What you’ll see embedded in FLASH and ARROW is that we’ll have the ability to test characters out. Is there room to grow them into the next show? I cannot tell you yet. There are discussions going on.”

In terms of just which characters could be spun-off to their own show, there was previous talk that The Huntress, who has appeared in both seasons of ARROW at various points, could be getting her own show down the line. Then there’s the character of Sara Lance and her Canary alter-ego, although the upcoming third season of ARROW is rumoured to see sister Laurel Lance start to make moves towards taking on the Canary moniker herself. You could look at somebody like Roy Harper, stepping into the Arsenal role in Season 3, to branch out on his own, or even Felicity Smoak and John Diggle branded together in a double-act show. Maybe somebody from THE FLASH, such as Vibe, could get their time to shine in the sun. Personally, though, we’d love to see Manu Bennett’s Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, get his own series. We can dream, right?

THE FLASH premieres on The CW on October 7th, whilst ARROW returns on October 8th. Both series will air on Sky1 later that month.
