Blink-182 member and UFO research champion Tom Delonge is making his debut in the film sphere, releasing the trailer for his first directorial feature, Monsters of California. The sci-fi film focuses on an outcast group of high school friends’ efforts to uncover a major government conspiracy.
DeLonge directs from a script he co-wrote with Ian Miller and Ben Kull. It stars Jack Samson, Casper Van Dien, Camille Kostek, Richard Kind, and Arianne Zucker. After discovering research left behind by a missing government agent, Monsters of California sees Dallas Edwards (Samson) and his friends pitted against the political establishment in their attempt to unearth a paranormal conspiracy in Southern California.
As is right, the trailer heavily features a version of the Blink-182 song “Aliens Exist”, which tells you all you need to know about the nature of this government conspiracy. Anyone else getting flashbacks to this summer’s US congressional hearings?
“If you take skateboarders, UFOs and Bigfoot, which pretty much sums up my entire life, you get a wild ride that will remind everyone of our early love of Amblin Films that inspired so many,” DeLonge promises of his upcoming sci-fi adventure.
Monsters of California releases in cinemas and on demand from October 6th. Watch the trailer below:
