LD Entertainment’s Jacob’s Ladder redo has today found its lead.

As reported by Deadline, The Perfect Guy’s Michael Ealy has been brought in to headline David M. Rosenthal’s remake of Adrian Lyne’s 1990 movie. Ealy and Rosenthal have worked together previously, with Rosenthal the man who actually helmed The Perfect Guy. A script is in place for this retelling courtesy of Jeff Buhler and Sarah Thorp, and this new Jacob’s Ladder is being described as “a modern-day paranoid action thriller about two brothers.” LD Entertainment’s Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon and Jennifer Monroe are on board to produce along with Alison Rosenzweig, Michael Gata and Will Packer.

The original film starred Tim Robbins, Elizabeth Pena and Danny Aiello, with the plot focussing on a Vietnam vet who’s haunted by trippy hallucinations and flashbacks from his time before and during the war.

Principal photography on this new Jacob’s Ladder is set to start in May.
