With John Constantine now without a televisual home, it appears that Hellblazer may just pop up in The CW’s Arrow.

The Matt Ryan-starring Constantine was sadly cancelled by NBC in May and then completely shelved last month. Speaking to IGN, Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericle was asked about the possibility of Constantine appearing in Starling City at some point. Mericle teased, “Yeah, we really want to do it. It’s something we’ve been talking to DC about and it’s just a question of some political things, but also the actor’s schedule. We’re trying to work it out, but we don’t know 100% if it’s going to happen, but we’re really optimistic and we would love to have him.”

Whether anything more comes of this, we’ll have to wait and see. That said, given how superb Matt Ryan was as John Constantine, it would be a huge waste to see him never reprise the role again.

Arrow returns for its fourth season on October 7th in the US, with a UK return expected to follow shortly after.
