Following the news earlier this week that Marvel’s The Punisher is now in production, the Jon Bernthal-starrer has brought in two new faces.

Straight from the mouth of Marvel Entertainment, these new additions are Girls’ Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro and Son of God’s Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani. In addition to this, it’s also been confirmed that the previously-cast Ben Barnes will be playing Billy Russo in the series.

As for these characters, Micro is a longtime Punisher comic book character, with him having served as Frank Castle’s weapons supplier and overall tech whizz for many a year. In Marvel’s The Punisher, Micro is described as a former NSA analyst whose secrets may be of great value to Frank. Where Billy Russo is concerned, he’s being described as Frank’s best pal from his days in the Special Forces who runs a private military corporation called Anvil. Of course, those familiar with the comics will know that Billy Russo is the real name of the longstanding Punisher villain, Jigsaw. Finally, Dinah Madani will be depicted as a top-end Homeland Security agent who isn’t all that happy with The Punisher and his actions. Additionally, Deborah Ann Woll has been spotted on the set of Marvel’s The Punisher, meaning that her character of Karen Page will be appearing. Karen has been a part of Marvel’s Daredevil’s two seasons to date, with her taking a shine to the troubled Frank Castle when Season 2 of Daredevil arrived earlier this year.

On these cast additions, showrunner Steve Lightfoot said, “I’m really excited about the cast we’re assembling alongside Bernthal as Frank Castle. I look forward to watching Ben, Ebon and Amber embody these characters and breathe vivid life into the story we are crafting for this season of Marvel’s The Punisher.”

As mentioned, The Punisher is currently shooting, with it still uncertain just when the series will debut on Netflix. Initially, word was that the show wouldn’t arrive until 2018 at the earlier, but a recent leaked image suggests that we may actually see the series turn up on the on-demand streaming service at some point next season.
