Right, finally giving us official confirmation on something that everyone has seemingly known for a little while now, Marvel Studios and Disney have announced that Benedict Cumberbatch will be taking the titular role in DOCTOR STRANGE.

On the confirmation, Marvel’s Kevin Feige said, “Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”

No exact plot details are known at this stage, although it’s believed that Daniel Brühl, after making an appearance in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, will be playing the main villain in the Sorcerer Supreme movie. The basic fundamentals of Doctor Strange is that he was originally a neurosurgeon, although a car accident ruined that career and would end up leading him down a path of magic and alternate dimensions.

From a script by Jon Spaiths and to be directed by SINISTER’s Scott Derrickson, DOCTOR STRANGE is currently set for a November 4th, 2016 release.
