‘Tis the season to be jolly, apparently, and to celebrate Manchester’s CORNERHOUSE have a season of classic ‘80s films (and one traditional favourite) to delight audiences of all ages.

The season began on December 6th with THE NEVERENDING STORY, but fear not, you haven’t missed the rest of it –

On Sunday December 7th at 18:10 you can enjoy the classic comedy PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES and on Thursday December 11th (18:10) is fan-favourite GHOSTBUSTERS.

Older audiences are not ignored with perennial seasonal actioner DIE HARD on Friday December 12th (20:00).

On Saturday 13th (13:10) you can enter the enchanting world of LABYRINTH, and follow it up on the Sunday (14th, 15:40) with George Lucas’ much-maligned WILLOW.

The season comes to a storming close on Saturday 20th at 20:40 with John Carpenter’s rollicking BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA.

Sandwiched in between are various screenings of the all-time classic (and arguably the greatest Christmas film ever made) IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE. Frank Capra’s tale of a desperate man driven to the brink of suicide who is shown by his guardian angel what life would be like had he never existed screens on December 13th, 17th then every night from 19th – 23rd (check the CORNERHOUSE website for timings).
