Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre star in the grounded first trailer for HBO’s DC Comics series, Lanterns.

The teaser also features Kelly Macdonald as a local cop investigating the murder. Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Jason Ritter and Ulrich Thomsen also star. Nathan Fillion is also expected to reprise his Superman role as Guy Gardner.
The series hails from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television. Mundy is the showrunner and executive produces with Lindelof (Watchmen, The Leftovers), King, DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran, as well as Ron Schmidt and James Hawes, who directed the first two episodes. Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel and Alik Sakharov also directed episodes.
Lanterns will consist of eight episodes. It will be part of the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
