Knightmare Live, the critically acclaimed stage adaptation of the cult ‘80s TV show, has won a UK LARP Award for Best Mainstream event.

The UK LARP Awards are presented at the end of the annual LARPCON, a convention designed to bring together the British LARP (Live-Action Role Play) community. The awards run the full range of the hobby, from professionally ran events to small hobby games. Other notable winner includes Curious Pastimes for Overall Best LARP of the Year and interactive games design auteur Ian Andrews was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award for his work on the critically acclaimed Greco-Roman fest event, Odyssey.

Despite its niche appeal, LARP in the UK is notable for the large number of professional writers, artists, SFX specialists and other creative types involved in the hobby. The small scale industry is often used as a springboard for higher profile projects in other media.
