Whilst we know about a couple of returning faces for Jurassic World 2, now comes some news on some new additions for the sequel to one of last year’s most successful movies.

Variety is reporting that Captain America: The First Avenger’s Toby Jones and Prometheus’ Rafe Spall have joined the Jurassic World sequel, although their roles are unknown at this stage. Jones and Spall join a cast that includes the returning Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

A Monster Calls’ J.A. Bayona is directing Jurassic World 2, with Jurassic World helmer Colin Trevorrow unable to return due to having landed the director gig on Star Wars: Episode IX. Trevorrow, however, has penned the screenplay for Jurassic World 2 with Derek Connolly.

Jurassic World 2 will be the second of a planned trilogy that began with last year’s hugely enjoyable outing. On that note, Jurassic World took home a whopping $1.67 billion across the globe, marking it as 2015’s highest grossing movie… until a little picture by the name of Star Wars: The Force Awakens came along and took home just over $2 billion.

At present, Jurassic World 2 is set for a June 22nd, 2018 release.
