As CBS’ Supergirl is getting ready to fly to the small screen, the show has added Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane.

Lucy is, of course, the younger sister of a certain Lois Lane, with the show’s description of the character describing her as brash, funny, beautiful, smart and successful. So pretty standard ‘glossy TV’ attributes then. The younger Lane will also have a history of sorts with Mehcad Brooks’ James Olsen, and she’ll debut in the show’s third episode before going on to become a recurring character.

Having debuted as a flight attendant way back in 1959’s Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #36, Lucy Lane is likely better remembered by many for taking on the role of Superwoman before the whole New 52 experiment kicked in. The character has also appeared in other Superman-based shows, such as Superman: The Animated Series, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Smallville.

Supergirl is set to debut in October.
