With Supergirl having moved from CBS to The CW for its second season, the Melissa Benoist-starrer has brought in a new addition in the form of Ian Gomez.

Comedian Gomez is likely best known for his work on Cougar Town and in the My Big Fat Greek Wedding movies, and he’ll be appearing as Snapper Carr when Supergirl returns later this year. In the show, Snapper will be the new Editor-in-Chief of CatCo Magazine.

In the comic book realm, Snapper Carr debuted in the 1960s and was introduced as a young, fresh character for younger readers to relate to. Despite usually having no actual superpowers or abilities, Snapper even ended up as an honorary member of the Justice League at one point in time. He did have some powers temporarily, although that was shortlived.

Other new additions for Season 2 of Supergirl so far are former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter as the President of the United States and Tyler Hoechlin as the Big Blue Boy Scout himself, Superman. With the move to The CW, the series will soon find itself in the same universe as Arrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Supergirl will return to US screens on October 10th, with a UK return expected to follow shortly after.
