Following “hot” on the heels of Charlie Heaton in advanced talks to play Cannonball, now comes word that Josh Boone’s New Mutants has found its Sunspot.

As per Bloody-Disgusting, 13 Reasons Why’s Henry Zaga has been brought in to play Roberto da Costa, aka Sunspot. A mutant with the ability to absorb and manipulate solar energy, Sunspot was previously seen, as played by Adan Canto, in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

In addition to Heaton being close to signing on as Cannonball, New Mutants also has The Witch’s Anya Taylor-Joy on board as Magik, and Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams confirmed to play Wolfsbane. Rosario Dawson is another currently in talks, with her being lined as up as the mentor figure of the picture, Dr. Cecilia Reyes.

At present, New Mutants, which is being described as an out-and-out horror movie, is set for an April 13th, 2018 release.
