In some news that we all kind of expected, it’s now been revealed by The Hollywood Reporter that Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye will indeed be a part of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.

During the actual comic book CIVIL WAR arc Hawkeye wasn’t really around, although he was firmly against Tony Stark’s proposed ideas. As such, expect him to be on the side of Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers when CAP 3 rolls around.

The plot of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR will see Steve Rogers and Tony Stark butting heads. Also set to appear in the film are Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, and a couple of MCU debuts. Daniel Bruhl will be debuting in a mystery villain role which will be expanded in DOCTOR STRANGE, whilst Chadwick Boseman will make his debut as Black Panther and then there’ll be an appearance from whoever happens to be the new Spider-Man. There’s currently a rumour that a lot of the tension between Rogers and Stark will be down to Tony’s part in Ultron’s coming to be, whilst it’s also suggested that Winter Soldier may be revealed to have been the one who killed Stark’s father Howard.

To be directed by the Russo brothers, CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is currently set for a May 6th, 2016 release.
