As more shows are renewed, scrapped, or ordered, Syfy has moved to confirm full series orders for both Happy! and Krypton.

Adapted from the Image Comics miniseries by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, the synopsis on Happy! reads:

Happy! stars Christopher Meloni as Nick Sax, a corrupt, intoxicated ex-cop turned hit-man, adrift in a stinking twilight world of casual muder, soulless sex, eczema and betrayal. With a hit gone wrong, a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail, and a monstrous child killer in a Santa suit on the loose, Nick and his world will be changed forever this Christmas by a tiny blue horse called Happy.

Starring Cameron Cuffe and Georgina Campbell, the official blurb on Krypton reads:

The Krypton series will follow Superman’s grandfather – whose House of El was ostracized and shamed – as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. The Seg-El name is both a nod to Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel and a reference to John Byrne’s 1980s miniseries, The World of Krypton.

As well as these two shows, Syfy is also set to adapt George R.R. Marton’s 1980 Nightflyers – a tale set in the future that focusses on a group of explorers tasked with intercepting a strange alien spacecraft that may hold the key to saving Earth from destruction. The Midnight Meat Train’s Jeff Buhler is on board to write and executive produce the adaptation.
