The good folk at GRIMM UP NORTH have scheduled a fantastic season of JOHN CARPENTER films, beginning on May 23th

So clear your diaries, and head down to The Dancehouse, Manchester to catch:

THEY LIVE – May 23th – Roddy Piper stars in this sci-fi political satire in which aliens use subliminal messages to control the working classes. Don your Ray Bahns, chew your bubblegum and kick ass!

ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK – June 5th Kurt Russell is coolness personified as Snake Plissken, forced to go to Manhatten Island – now a high security prison – to rescue the President. A fun blend of action and sci-fi set in the distant future (well, 1997… but, you know…)

BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA – June 26th Russell again, this time as gung-ho hero Jack Burton, battling a 200-year old magician, Lo Pan. If you were born ready, be there!

THE THING – July 17th – That man Russell again! In one of the greatest horror films of all time, man is the warmest place to hide. With impressive effects work which still holds up, it’s a wild ride!

All the films are brilliant, and full of eminently quotable lines. Don’t miss this rare chance to see them on the big screen with some like-minded folk!
