It’s that time of year again where shows are being renewed or axed (just ask poor Sleepy Hollow), and now FOX has moved to confirm Gotham for a fourth season.

After a so-so start, the series has slowly become a favourite of many genre fans. Sure, it may have often seemed as if it was slapping its audience around the chops with its nods and references to the Dark Knight and his surrounding world, but Gotham soon became a guilty pleasure of many… and then it actually got surprisingly good at times!

With Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon, David Mazouz as the young Bruce Wayne, and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, the series has also introduced us to its takes on familiar characters such as The Penguin, The Riddler, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Mad Hatter, Lucius Fox, Harvey Dent, and a ‘kind of’ Joker, whilst also giving some time to potentially lesser-known comic book characters such as Harvey Bullock, Sarah Essen, Barbara Kean, Renee Montoya, Arnold Flass, Firefly, Dollmaker, Firefly, Mr. Zsasz, and even a young take on Tommy Elliot, aka the future Hush.

Gotham can be found on Channel 5 here in the UK.
