California based board games company Cryptozoic have announced that they have signed new licensing deals with both the Fox Broadcasting Company and videogame makers Valve.

This means that 2014 will be filled with all sorts of interesting tie-in games, including a board game based on the cult video game Portal. The company also plan to release products based on Fox TV shows including Sleepy Hollow and Archer and will continue to expand its popular line of The Walking Dead related games.

Archer: The Danger Zone! Board Game is described as “a high-stakes game of espionage, international intrigue, and screwing over your co-workers.” Bluffing and deception games have become a very popular and profitable trend in traditional gaming recently and it is likely that this game, based on the hit animated comedy series Archer will follow along the same lines.

The Portal Board Game has been described a “big box with lots of minatures” and early pictures seem to suggest that it will be an event-based game with lots of moving part. There is also definitely a cake model in the set, so at least as far as the board game is concerned, the cake is not a lie.

Other products in Cryptozoics line-up include The Doom That Came To Atlantic City! a controversial parody of a classic board game that will remain nameless, further expansions of their popular Adventure Time: Card Wars collectible series and a dice game based on popular YouTube show Bravest Warriors.
