Starting last night at 10pm was a new six-part post-apocalyptic comedy from ITV called COCKROACHES. Airing on ITV2, the series is a first in that it is fully available now online via ITV Player ahead of transmission.

COCKROACHES is an everyday story of one family trying to survive in a wasteland of cannibals, perverts and one insufferable ex. They struggle with boredom, fear and the ethics of cooking with their own body fluids. The series is written and created by Freddy Syborn (BAD EDUCATION) and stars Daniel Lawrence Taylor (UNCLE) as Tom, and Esther Smith (SKINS) as Suze, the nineteen-year-old (at the start) heroes who wind up wandering an anarchic future landscape nine years later with Laura (played by Jessica Emily Rose) their daughter.

The cast includes a range of familiar and future faces, including Jack Whitehall as Oscar, Suze’s ex-boyfriend, Nigel Planer, Caroline Quentin, Jaime Winstone and Tom Davis. It is made by Big Talk Productions (REV, HIM AND HER).

As noted, interested would-be viewers can watch now online or wait for new episodes to air on ITV2 every Tuesday. This series shows every sign of being a success and more information is available on the ITV website.
