Starburst Readers can win a Full Day Ticket to ghost stories, Gothic and supernatural fiction literary event, Winter Haunts, as well as a set of books.

 

The prizes are:

  • 1 x top prize – full day ticket to Winter Haunts plus Titan book set – Ghostwritten by Ronald Malfi and The Pallbearers Club by Paul Tremblay

This November sees the first run of WINTER HAUNTS, presented by Writing Magazine and Alex Davis Events. Taking place online one Sunday 6th November, the event gathers together an array of writing talent from all over the world for a day of ghost stories, Gothic and supernatural fiction. Throughout the event participants will have the choice of a range of workshops, interviews talks and panels from some of the most popular and acclaimed names in the field.

 

The interview thread will feature slots from Sarah Waters (The Little Stranger, Fingersmith), Paul Tremblay (The Cabin at the End of the World, The Pallbearers Club), Dacre Stoker (Dracul, Dracula the Un-Dead), Stephen Volk (Ghostwatch, The Dark Masters Trilogy), Carole Johnstone (Mirrorland, The Blackhouse) and AM Shine (The Watchers, The Creeper).

The workshop thread will see workshop and panel sessions from JS Breukelaar, Gwendolyn Kiste, Ronald Malfi, Alison Moore, Lindy Ryan, Sarah Ward, Alexandrea Weis and Stephanie M Wytovich.

Winter Haunts runs from 10am-4pm on Sunday 6th November, with sessions running through Google Meet. Tickets for the event are £30 for access to a single thread of activity or £50 for access to both threads of activity. All sessions (barring Dacre Stoker) will be recorded for participants to watch back after the event.

 

Event lead Alex Davis said: ‘I’m hugely excited about this event, and very grateful for all the support from Writing Magazine and the many wonderful publishers that helped us to assemble such an incredible line-up. It’s great to give people the chance to attend from anywhere in the world, not to mention that we have authors taking part from Alaska to Australia. If this is your field of fiction, either as a writer or reader, this one is not to be missed.’
