The Black Sunday Film Festival takes place at the Chelmsford Everyman on Friday – Sunday, January 26th – 28th, screening some great new movies (and one secret classic!). While all the films – and shorts – are worth checking out, we have chosen the ones you definitely shouldn’t miss!
Lovely, Dark, and Deep
A park ranger experiences some creepy supernatural occurrences out in the wilderness in Teresa Sutherland’s psychological thriller.
Aberrance
The wilds of Mongolia are the setting for this stylish offering from Baatar Batsukh.
He Never Left
A fugitive on the run with his girlfriend gets mixed up with a legendary serial killer in James Morris’ classy horror thriller.
Faceless After Dark
Jenna Kannell (Terrifier) plays the lead of a successful killer clown film who’s been kidnapped by a deranged fan of the movie. Raymond Wood’s fabulous movie shines a light on the cult of horror celebrity in a gloriously stylised way.
How to Kill Monsters
It’s been on the festival circuit for a while, picking up numerous awards and gaining a cult of fans already. Stewart Sparke’s blood-soaked horror-comedy is the perfect audience pleaser.
The festival closes on Sunday night with a rare big-screen outing for one of festival director Scott Lyus’ favourite genre films. We guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
