The True Believers Comic Festival has announced their Guest Of Honour for their maiden comic convention and it is none other than comic book legend Neal Adams!

Festival co-founder (and Starburst writer – in the interest of full disclosure) Stuart Mulrain said; “We are all huge fans of Mr. Adams work and are thrilled to have him as our guest of honour for our event. He is one of the key figures in the shaping of modern comics and we’re looking forward to fans having the opportunity to meet a true icon from the world of comics.”

For those who don’t know, Adams was one of the key figures in re-inventing Batman in the post William Dozier/Adam West days along with writer Dennis O’Neil. Along with O’Neil he worked on some landmark issues of Green Lantern/Green Arrow. He was also responsible for championing new artists into the industry as well as helping Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster finally get the recognition they deserved for creating Superman.

Adams will be signing at the event and selling his artwork. Fans will also be able to request and pay for commissions in advance that they can collect on the day. There are also plans in place for Adams to take part in a live Q&A evening as part of the event.

“If all goes to plan” Mulrain explains “This will be a separate event to the main festival that will raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation. The details on the Q&A will be added to our website when they are finalised.”

There will be exclusive extras for people who buy their tickets as part of the Kickstarter campaign, including priority queues for the Neal Adams signing and other exclusive extras. Tickets are still available through the Kickstarter until 5th March, but they are limited and will sell out fast.

The event will be taking place at Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire on Saturday 7th February 2015. Their guest list also includes Dylan Teague, Lee Townsend, Lee Sullivan, Mike Collins, Lee Garbett, Laurence Campbell, Kate Brown, Emma Vieceli, Nich Angell and Jon Lock, with more names to be announced soon.
