Shortcuts to Hell 2

With the line-up of films set to be announced on Friday, it’s been confirmed that TheHorrorshow.TV, the first UK-based VOD service for horror and fantasy film fans has united with FrightFest, Movie Mogul, Horror Channel and Wildseed Studios to provide streaming and downloading of the shortlisted films of the Shortcuts to Hell 2 competition, via their dedicated VOD site.

The nationwide contest is for new filmmaking talent, primed and ready to make their first horror feature film. The three finalists will debut their films at this year’s FrightFest event and the winning filmmaker, chosen by a public vote, will have their film produced by Movie Mogul and Wildseed Studios. As well as going into production early 2015, they will get a minimum cash production fund of £20,000. The completed feature film will receive UK digital distribution, its world premiere at Film4 FrightFest 2015, and a broadcast premiere on Horror Channel.

TheHorrorShow.TV’s David Hughes said, “The Shortcuts to Hell competition is already renowned as an exceptional crucible for genre filmmaking talent in the UK, and with this year’s addition of the feature film incentive, it’s bound to be the biggest incarnation of the competition yet. We’re extremely excited that the twenty-six finalists – including, of course, the overall winner – will be able to show off their films through the kind of digital streaming and download release for which TheHorrorShow.TV is known.

Movie Mogul’s MD, John Shackleton added, “We’re thrilled to welcome TheHorrorShow.TV as an exciting Video On Demand and streaming partner to Shortcuts to Hell 2. We can now ensure maximum exposure for the winning filmmakers, whilst offering film fans and those with a keen eye on new talent, further options on how, when and where to consume the tasty second volume of new horror offerings!

The judging panel, which includes filmmaker Simon Rumley, Horror Channel’s Emily Booth and Total Film editor Rosie Fletcher, are set to choose the three finalists after the competition closes on July 22, so there’s still a time to get your entry in if you’re quick!
