With a reworking of 101 Dalmatians currently in development, it’s now being reported that Emma Stone is in talks for the film.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that the actress is in early negotiations to play Cruella de Vil in the redo. This latest Disney effort will be a live-action film that, much like Maleficent, will largely look at things from the viewpoint of the villain of the piece.

Kelly Marcel is currently working on the screenplay for this rogue-focussed tale, which will serve as an origin story of sorts for Cruella. Andrew Gunn will be producing alongside Disney’s Kristin Burr and Jessica Virtue.
