The upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves has finally released an official trailer at Comic-Con, ahead of its cinema debut next year – and it looks like so much fun.

“A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic,” reads the official logline, “but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.”

Chris Pine plays the bard Edgin, while Michelle Rodriguez stars as the barbarian Holga. Regé-Jean Page is Xenk, a paladin; Sophia Lillis is a druid who can transform into a wolfbear; Hugh Grant is a powerful rogue; Justice Smith is a sorcerer.

“We’re a team of thieves. When you do this you’re bound to make enemies, and sometimes those enemies come looking for revenge,” intones Pine’s group leader. “Truth be told,” he continues, “we helped the wrong person steal the wrong thing – we didn’t mean to unleash the greatest evil the world has ever known. But we’re going to fix it.”

Honor Among Thieves is directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who have got the fun and quick pace down to an art thanks to their previous work on Game Night. The duo co-writes the screenplay with Michael Gilio, who penned Kwik Stop and is attached to write the sci-fi movie The Raven.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves premieres in cinemas March 3rd, 2023. Watch the trailer below:
