For those who’ve seen Marvel Studios’ latest big screen effort, Doctor Strange, you’ll remember the post-credits scene where Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Strange is joined by none other than the God of Thunder, Thor. Well, now comes confirmation that Doctor Strange will indeed be showing up in November’s Thor: Ragnarok.

The news was revealed via Disney’s official fan club D23, with Thor: Ragnarok now officially described as: “Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new.”

There’s no word yet on just how Strange will feature in the film, but the character certainly has a history with the Hulk in the comic book realm. Not only were the pair part of the original Defenders team, but Doctor Strange was part of the Illuminati who made the call to send the Green Goliath into space for the safe of the world during the fan favourite Planet Hulk arc. Given how Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will turn up on Sakaar – the planet from Planet Hulk – during Thor: Ragnarok, could it be that the Master of the Mystic Arts will play a part in how the Hulk got there?

Along with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and now Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Ragnarok will also feature Idris Elba as Heimdall, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Cate Blanchett as Hela, and an unknown role for Sam Neill.

To be directed by Hunt for the Wilderpeople’s Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok is currently set for a November 3rd release.
