Marvel has announced via Variety that Director Scott Derrickson, who helmed the first Doctor Strange film back in 2016, has stepped down as the Director of the upcoming sequel.

In a statement, a Marvel representative said;

“Marvel Studios and Scott Derrickson have amicably parted ways on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences. We remain grateful to Scott for his contributions to the MCU.”

Production of the film is still slated to take place beginning in May 2020 with no delays due to this news announced – Marvel Studios are hard at work searching for Scott’s replacement.
