With plans already announced for a sequel to Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book, Disney has now confirmed release dates for several upcoming live-action efforts.

The dates in question are July 28th, 2017; April 6th, 2018; August 3rd, 2018; December 25th, 2018; and December 20th, 2019. These are in addition to the already-announced November 2nd, 2018 and November 8th, 2019 release dates. The big question, though, is just which films will take which release dates.

It’s believed that The Jungle Book 2 will nab one of the dates, quite possibly the August 2018 or November 2018 slot, and then other films to arrive will be the Emma Stone-starring Cruella, the Ava DuVernay-helmed A Wrinkle in Time, the Dwayne Johnson-headlined Jungle Cruise, Rob Marshall’s Mary Poppins sequel, Angelina Jolie-centric Maleficent 2, the Reese Witherspoon-starring Tinker Bell movie, and possibly Lasse Hallstrom’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. So yeah, there’s a whole load of live-action Disney fairytales and retelling of classics on the way over the next few years.

At present, Favreau’s The Jungle Book has already taken home $533 million globally, with fans and critics alike impressed by what was at one point deemed a needless redo of an old favourite.
