For years now there’s been talks of a third Bill and Ted movie, and now Death himself has chimed in on the prospect.

William Sadler, who played the Grim Reaper in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, has recently spoken to The Hollywood News about whether he’d be interested in returning for the much-discussed Bill & Ted 3. The actor enthused, “I would do it in a heartbeat. I would love to, and I’ve told them. I think Alex said that the Grim Reaper is in the script that they’re working on.”

Alex Winter, who played Bill S. Preston Esq. in the franchise, has been putting a script together for a little while now, and Sadler has revealed that one major sticking point is the character of Rufus, played by the late George Carlin. Sadler explained, “The biggest problem to overcome is that now that George Carlin has passed, because he was the catalyst, he was their host or their guide on their journeys that they took. He always turned out to be the one who was helping them along, and now that he’s gone, you have to write around him, or something. I haven’t seen a script, I hear there is one, but I loved the project. If they get it together to do it, I’d be happy to come on board.”

With Winter having previously confirmed his involvement, Keanu Reeves has also previously revealed that he will also be back as Ted Theodore Logan. Plot-wise, early stories suggest that the film will focus on the Bill and Ted in their mid-40s, stuck in San Dimas and trying desperately to create the greatest song in the world.
