It’s something fans of the cult ’90s show have been desperately wanting for years, and now it seems that, finally, something new may be stirring in the world of TWIN PEAKS.

On Friday afternoon, series co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost simultaneously tweeted a quote from the series: “That gum you like is going to come back in style!“, along with the hashtag #damngoodcoffee

Now, it could be that they’re just playing with us, or it could be something else PEAKS related, but maybe, just maybe…

This year marks 25 years since the events of the 1989-set series, a significant date in the show’s mythology – an early dream sequence saw Kyle MacLachlan’s Agent Cooper flash forward 25 years to a cryptic meeting with murdered schoolgirl Laura Palmer.

In addition, both creators, as well as numerous cast members are still involved with the show, recently contributing to the Blu-ray box set of the series. Given all that, and the series’ newfound popularity on streaming sites such as Netflix, means that now probably marks TWIN PEAKS’ best chance to return since it was cancelled back in 1991.

Either that or they both have been overindulging on the cherry pie again.
