Last week saw Fox TV Group’s Gary Newman reveal how talks are underway to bring THE X-FILES back to screens. That was literally all that was said on the matter, but now David Duchovny has been discussing the show’s possible return, revealing that he’s ready to reprise his Fox Mulder role.

Speaking to USA Today, the actor said that he’s “more than happy and excited to bring it back and do it again with Gillian .”

Duchovny went on to add, “I’m assuming that it will happen sooner rather than later now. We’ll see what form, how many . Certainly I can’t nor would I be interested in doing a full season. It will be in some kind of limited form. We’re all old, we don’t have the energy for a full season.”

The actor is now 54 years of age, whilst co-star Gillian Anderson is 46, and it certainly looks as if we’ll be seeing the actors return as Mulder and Scully at some point in the future.

THE X-FILES initially ran from 1993 to 2002, amassing 202 episodes, with the action also taken to the big screen with the 1998 and 2008 movies.
