Whilst Star Wars:
Episode VII – The Force Awakens is due to hit screens later this year, details are
still sketchy on what exactly to expect from Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII. Well
now there’s news on one confirmed cast member.

Obviously a lot of what happens in Episode VII will have ramifications on how things play out in Episode VIII, which is why so little is
known on Johnson’s film at this stage. As such, this confirmed cast member for Episode VIII could be classed as a
spoiler for The Force Awakens. You’ve
been warned…

SPOILERS

With some Episode
VIII
production work having recently taken place in Ireland, Irish
Examiner
has brought words on some delays due to weather conditions, but
also news on a returning cast member who was spotted on set. That person was
Mark Hamill.

Hamill, better known to many a genre fan as simply Luke
Skywalker, was present at the Portmagee shoot. Now despite speculation over his potential
death in The Force Awakens, this
would suggest that Luke managers to make it through Episode VII by hook or by crook. Alternatively, maybe Skywalker
could even be seen as a ‘Force Ghost’ in Episode VIII, much like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and
Anakin have been in previous movies.

Very little is known on Episode
VIII
right now bar Rian Johnson directing and Benicio Del Toro being lined
up as the villain of the film, which is currently set for a May 26th, 2017
release.

Before any of that, of course, J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens hits
screens on December 18th.
